Interventional radiology (IR) is a medical specialty that uses image-guided minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases. Interventional radiologists use imaging techniques such as X-ray fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound to guide catheters, wires, and other instruments through the body to perform procedures.
